Experience

  • Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services (Career Dept.)   July 2004-Current

In my tenure with GCFES I have ascended through the ranks to Training Officer for Recruit School and then to Training Officer with the Career Development Division. My roles at training encompassed coordinating the promotional classes for approximately 850 personnel within my department from first year firefighters to District Chiefs. I have developed, teach, and/or schedule Incident Safety Officer, Building Construction, Crew Resource Management, Instructor I, II, and III, Acting Officer, Acting Captain, Acting Battalion Chief and Lateral Academy (Fast Track Program for experienced firefighters). I currently serve as a Driver/Engineer for Truck and Engine Company 4. I also serve on the Gwinnett County Fire Academy Task Force and previously served on the technical rescue team.

  • Centerville Fire and Rescue Services  (Combination Dept.)   March 2004-July 2004

During my time with Centerville, which is a combination department, I served as a paid Firefighter/First Responder. I was allowed to begin implementing a Fire Prevention and Education program for the city. While with Centerville I attended continuous training opportunities at the Georgia Fire Academy to educate myself.

  • City of Gray Volunteer Fire Department (Volunteer Dept)   March 2003-Present

I began my career as a volunteer firefighter where I was fortunate to be at a very proactive department that encouraged school and training. This is where my enthusiasm for the job began and I started to obtain certifications and extra schooling. I currently serve as the Training Officer for the City of Gray.
